Company Profile
Established in March 1992 at Queen Anne's Battery Marina, to provide a range of motor yacht services, recognizing the individuality of the owner and the boat, Western Marine Power has become renowned in the marine industry for providing a high quality and reliable comprehensive service. A move to Mount Batten in 1999 followed an increase in customer demand and led to rapid expansion. 2007 saw further expansion with a climate controlled workshop facility, purpose built offices and an enhanced purchasing centre. Skilled Westcountry craftsmen, with experience in boat construction, electrical and mechanical engineering, cabinet making and gel repairs, work with state-of-the-art yacht refit and installation facilities backed up by a professional management team.
Two indoor workshops of 1800sq ft (168m2) and additional external storage of 2400sq ft (223m2) can accommodate craft up to 100 ft (30m) utilizing a 65 tonne boat hoist and berthing facilities are nearby. Our workforce can be mobilized to operate at the client’s base if the boat cannot be brought to the main premises, however WMP is well connected with towage and haulage companies to transport vessels to the Plymouth base.
Western Marine Power's customers include some of the largest pleasure boat builders in Europe and individual customers and boat dealers the world over. Having an in-depth knowledge of the marine industry with 'hands on' experience, the dedicated Project Managers will listen carefully to the customer's requirements, then oversee the implementation to ensure that the finished job satisfies the Company's demanding standards; meets all the expectations of the customer as well as being done on time and to budget. In all projects undertaken, all work is carried out to the customer’s required specifications be it Lloyds, MCA or RCD specifications.
"When a customer brings their boat to us they can be sure that it will be sympathetically and professionally handled. We value our reputation that we enhance and add value: be it a brand new or classic craft.” - Nick Nutt, Managing Director
